Development Engineer; Tixie Consumer Engagement Platform
Tixie is an exciting startup that powers dynamic and effective contest, reward and loyalty promotions to entertainment and hospitality companies.
What we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced mid-level developer to develop the full-stack (front-end + middleware including API integration + data layer) of our new products and product iterations. You will work closely with members of our small team to develop and flesh out features and integrations. Proficiency with taking non-technical feature requirements and translating them is essential.
To be considered for this role you must have experience with Python, Django, and developing an API. For this level role it is expected that you have prior experience developing functional web apps from the ground up, applying Bootstrap or other UI frameworks, and using appropriate versioning, testing, and security practices. Some nice to haves are experience with deployments, server maintenance, and iOS development.
This is a challenging job but also a rewarding one. Come be a part of the action!
Experience Requirements (you definitely have these):
Solid software engineering skills. You have a few years of professional coding, testing, and releasing software products. You're well-versed enough with OOP concepts that you can move comfortably between languages as needed. You get git. You know what an API is and how to use one. DRY means something to you, and you have a plan before the first line of code gets written. You have some experience in at least one of the following:
Bonus Points (one or more would be great!):
Knowledge of any of our stack: AWS with Postgresql, Django, Bootstrap served by nginx and Gunicorn. We also have a couple of apps on iOS and Android that interact with our API running on our servers.
Experience building APIs.
Ansible or other DevOps tools.
Being a crack shot with a bow and arrow.
Ability to work out of our NW Portland office in a startup environment preferred.
Remote location in the US will be considered.
Flexible work schedule.
Tixie is an equal opportunity employer.
This is a full-time employee position, with competitive salary and benefits. Evening and occasional weekend hours are not a regular component of the weekly schedule, but aren’t entirely unheard of.
